چکیده

Due to their excellent thermophysical properties and high stability, inorganic salts Forsalt mixtures are considered promising thermal energy storage materials for applications operating at temperatures. A mixture of binary salts, such as CaCl2 (58 wt.%)-LiCl (42 wt.%), was investigated in this work understand stability use TES systems. Thermophysical properties, onset melting crystallization temperature, enthalpy fusion, enthalpy, were all experimentally via the a simultaneous analyzer. The experimental findings demonstrated suitable temperature 488 °C solidification 480 °C. heat fusion observed 206 J/g, whereas recorded 180 J/g. Thermal repeatability tests indicated little variations temperature; however, enthalpies changed significantly over course 30 heating-cooling cycles. Additionally, results obtained from thermogravimetric analysis showed relatively weak with considerable mass changes. This might be caused by decomposing elevated In order validate this, high-temperature in-situ X-ray diffraction technique used verify instability salt without cycling. decomposition parent subsequent formation new phases voids shown cause instability. It is concluded that chloride but which may limit its practical applications.

Thermal energy storage – overview and specific insight into nitrate salts for sensible and latent heat storage

Thermal energy storage (TES) is capable to reduce the demand of conventional energy sources for two reasons: First, they prevent the mismatch between the energy supply and the power demand when generating electricity from renewable energy sources. Second, utilization of waste heat in industrial processes by thermal energy storage reduces the final energy consumption. This review focuses mainly ...

Non-metallic and Structurally Efficient Thermal Energy Storage Composites for Avionics Temperature Control, Part I: Thermal Characterization

A novel multi-functional plate-like lamination that combines a thermal energy storage capability with a structural capability is described. The lamination consists of a paraffin impregnated porous graphitic core (the energy storage volume) encapsulated between rigid graphite/epoxy composite plates and ribs to form a twodimensional box structure. Heat storage is via solidliquid phase transition ...

Microencapsulation of Metal-based Phase Change Material for High-temperature Thermal Energy Storage

Latent heat storage using alloys as phase change materials (PCMs) is an attractive option for high-temperature thermal energy storage. Encapsulation of these PCMs is essential for their successful use. However, so far, technology for producing microencapsulated PCMs (MEPCMs) that can be used above 500°C has not been established. Therefore, in this study, we developed Al-Si alloy microsphere MEP...
